I have these two Jewelled Lacertas that I've mentioned before. I got them, im convinced, just out of the egg.



From the beginning, hunting crickets has been a problem. The smaller one tried to catch them, but used a direct attack that the crickets easily avoided. She would give up and lay there letting the crickets walk all over her. She finally got sick and needed vet care. Lickily she pooped on the vet's arm. You might remember the bugs she had in her intestines, plus some kind of worm. I've been dosing both of them with Baytril for quite a while now, and now i'm supposed to stop and bring both of them in for their first de-wormer. The vet saw the ova of a certain kind of worm in the feces.



Now when I feed crickets I use 3/4 incher's, remeove one leg and cut their feelers back. They can catch those crickets. The most tentative hunter, the female, takes off every leg and eats it, and then takes the cricket from it's side, tries to figure out how to eat it, puts it down, and finally takes it head first.



Luckily they are small so I don't have to prepare too many crickets per day.



Any hints on other prey items they would be attracted to? It has to move or they don't seem to see it.
