Sounds like an imminent birth. I haven't kept blue spinys, but I've kept Yarrows which are also livebearers. I think as the developing young take up more space, there's less room in the stomach for food, so the female takes in less food. I've noticed that egglaying species definitely also spend a lot of time basking under the lights for a week or so before laying their eggs, so that might be another sign.

Good luck on what looks to be an impending birth. Be sure to remove the babies, as the adults would consider them snack food.
