I had a mandarin female this year go into a shed, shed and lay periodic slugs from post shed day 1 until post shed day 10. She was never stressed. Last night, a second mandarin on post shed day 1 laid 3 slugs scattered throughout the cage (1 in water dish, 1 on substrate, and 1 in nesting box). She currently is in the nesting box...also left alone for awhile. This is the first year this has happened to me as last year I had no problems w/ clutches. I think there are more to come from the 2nd girl, however I'm not to confident they will be viable. I can't explain why they are doing this. I hope somebody can give some insight. Good luck, I hope you hatch out some of those little buggers and they aren't too much to get feeding.

take care and keep us updated
