Wow, it has been a couple of years since I have been back to this site. I had to post this quick story where I knew it would be appreciated. This past tuesday (the 4th) a bunch of us went tubing on one of the local rivers. Right after we put the tubes in the water I saw a northern watersnake out of the corner of my eye all curled up under some branches (everyone else of course went right by it) I jumped out of the tube to come back and check it out while everyone else started screaming and paddling to get away onece I mentioned a snake. Well, after everyone else had left, I discovered that the whole sand bar was crawling with watersnakes...I found five more large ones curled up under branches and then turned around and saw two more swimming across the river directly at me. I was in heaven, I have never seen that many watersnakes all in one place.
