The main thing you need to pay attention to is the fact that your UV bulb should be somewhere that the anoles can never be more than 12 inches from. They are diurnal so need lots of UV light, and being within 12 inches at all times will ensure they are close enough to absorb all the goodness from the bulb.

Another thing to remember is that astro turf is far easier to keep clean than anything else you might find, you just whip it out, blast it under the hot shower and away you go. Simple! Remember to have plenty of basking spots for a colony, not more than 1 male, and plenty of room. I dont know how big a 10 gallon is but mine is 3ft tall x 1.5 x 1.5. They need a TALL aquarium, they like to climb. Personally I would use a day light bulb, as it is a substitute for the "sun", bright light overhead kind of thing..... instead of a ceramic but I guess that's a case of personal choice. Remember anoles are usually wild caught and therefore mimicking their natural environment is another aid to keeping them footloose and stress free.
