(I originally posted this on www.phrynosoma.org forums, but thought I would post here as well)............

So I haven't had a whole lot of time for herping this year but have had some success during my few outings. The majority of my time in the field is spent collecting ants for my captive Hl's and I have seen many coronatum in my favorite ant collecting spots.
One of my spots is being surveyed for construction so when I found this first HL I walked him about a quarter of a mile out of harms way. Of course his fate is no doubt still very threatened.

My normal ant collecting spot is loaded with p.californicus and it's very common for me to see anywhere from 1-6 HL's in the 2 hours I usually spend collecting ants. Here are a few from the area.

On a very hot July morning I decided to head into platyrhinos habitat and snap some pics of some DHL's. Fortunately I was greeted by a couple right away.

So far I have seen more CHL's this year than any other year. I plan on venturing back into Flat tail habitat soon and will post a report.
