Yeah, but lets be realistic here, I dont think its a very adequate cage for him. He is 12" long right now you said, correct? He wont stay that small for very long, and instead of buying higher wattage bulbs and other things for when you need to give him a bigger cage, than I would just give him a bigger enclosure now. Petstores can get away with keeping there lizards in smaller cages, because they wont call that cage "home" for very long. If you have a male, it will reach 3 feet in length, and you need (in my opinion) double the length of the lizard... specially in hieght, 2 ft in hieght is nothing, there is no space for him to move around (or very much) and keeping correct temperatures in there is gonna be hard. Its up to the owners to provide excellent husbandry, because they cant do it themselves, so the choice is yours.
