Well, I suppose it was going to happen eventually, but that doesn't make it any less a tragedy. I didn't always agree with some of the risks he took, but he did an enormous amount of good in making the public aware of how amazing these animals are, and getting people to care. Really suprises me that it was a stingray that finally got him. I always figured it would be a krait or something... I guess his final lesson for us is, don't underestimate any animal. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

RIP Steve, we'll miss you.
