When my mother informed me of Steve Irwin's death on Monday morning, I was overwhelmed with emotion. Though I've followed Steve for years, since I was a very young girl, and respected him highly, I didn't quite support how he went about informing people about reptiles. However, he did bring a lot of attention, respect, and glamorization to the animals. I'm not sure why I was hit with such emotions that I had to run to my bathroom and vomit, then cried for hours.. I'm really not sure. Maybe it's my own dedication to my animals, or the thoughts rushing through my head about his family, images of what may have been when that stingray killed him.. I don't know.. But he will be missed. I'm still confused with my emotions about it, and I'm not even sure I wanted to know.. I'm still crying everytime I think about this...
