My Pacman frog has not eliminated waste since the 18th of Aug.
It is his normal habit to eliminate about once a month, but this
has me slghtly concerned.
I am retired, so if I can keep from taking him to an Exotic vet and any of you have ay ideas, I'd appreciate some help.
He is 1 1/2 yr, CB, housed in 20 gal long, temp around 75 to 80, doesn't like heat, substrate is jungle bed, I only hand feed. Since the 18th of Aug, he has eaten 1 fuzzy, 7 wags, 1 pinkie, several large crickets and 4 large waxworms over aperiod of time..not all at once.
I have floated him in warm water on 3 ocassions with no results.
He seems to be fine and I don't notice anything hard when I handle him. I am not sure what signs I'd see if there was an impaction.
I spoke to an exotic vet this morning and he said I should not use hairball meds to relieve the frog. This had been a suggestion from another site. He suggested I float him again in temps no higher than 85 degrees and elevate the temp in his tank about 4 or 5 degrees and call him back on Monday.
