ColorMeBlue,
I think "half and half" style setups look great. They give the cage a feel of being bigger, and containing more than it does. The only problem I can forsee is the water changing issue. Your frog will likely produce a large amount of excrement, and will need his bathing/lavatory facilities cleaned, as you said, on a daily basis. When you do this it is really important that you sterilize the water container. You probably know about the whole sensitive skin aspect of frog keeping, that's why this is so important. Siphoning out the water will not sterilize that part of the tank. It' too bad I know, but it can be detrimental to your frog. I would reccomend getting a "rock" bowl, or some other attractive reptile dish for your frog as opposed to dividing your tank, it'll save you time, energy and possible heartache in the long run. Hope this helped you, and good luck on your frog's tank (it sounds like whatever you choose to do, your frog will have a nice cage when you're done.

Regards, EMWhite
