On Sunday I went up to Peterborough and met up with Stu Stick and Steve Marks. Stu took us to a spot where eastern milk snakes are numerous. Sure enough, we found a total of six adult, one yearling and three baby milks. I just wanted to share these pictures I took:

These are two of the neonate milks we found.

This is me with those same two baby milks.

This was probably the nicest looking of the milk snakes we found.

This is the same snake. Notice the tail has retained its old skin. This snake had a brutal injury that is mostly hidden by the snake's body in this picture (you can just see the start of it.) Steve said it was probably caused by a bird. He aided the snake by removing the shed before it was released.

This is another milk we found. I find the amount of variation in colour between individual snakes incredible especially within such a small area.

Thanks for looking, and see you at the show on Sunday. I need ride to the show, if anybody in TO has an extra seat in their car...
