The hardest part was drilling all the holes for the rebar to tie the corners together. You could probably get by just nailing the timbers on top of each other but I think the rebar is the best way to go. The land area is not lined so any overflow from the water area goes through gravel channels in the land area and out the bottom. I live in South AL so I just let my snappers brumate in the pond. I did put in some extra pots of dirt where they like to bury up and can still be close to the surface. Right now the water temp is about 48F. We have had some very warm days in the 70s and I did see one of them moving around. I probably won't start feeding again till late March early April.
