Just not big enough for them. They've been spoiled and used to be out for a lot longer periods of the day. Temps and humidity are fine; they eat like pigs, and always hang out together, even when loose in the house. Plenty of hiding spots.

They are very smart though. Lily (the girl) knows if she paws at the glass part of the door, she can get it open a bit. The knows how to wedge the screws loose and get the door loose enough that she can get out. She managed one time to break the door clean off, then spent the next 5 hours in my room and I found her sleeping in the laundry pile, and the boy in the closet. They just get bored without enough stuff to do.
