I saw an ad in the local newspaper's want ads that said Tortoise for sale: will be 300lbs call xxx-xxxx.
I thought oh maaan somebody is trying to dump a sulcata.
So I called yesterday, not because I wanted it but to find out exactly what she was selling. I'm so glad I did.
It turned out the person selling a yearling sulcata got it in the first place because someone she new in another state had grandparents who'd raised them for years.
The grandparents had died so all their adults went to zoos but later all these babies were found. This person on the phone only had it because she was one of the people trying to save it from death.
I put the word out and my vet is going to take this baby.
I know for sure it's getting a good home & that just made my day!
