Ok this is my first frog that does not live under water all its life and well. I am getting so much conflicting information and so many don't do this and do that but no you can't do it that way. Well the deal is like this. I was told don't use an under the tank heating pad as my frog will burry itself and it would burn the stomach of my frog and now I here don't use light for more than 10-12 hours a day as it may cause the frog to go into estivation. Now I here use a full spectrem bulb and then I hear don't use a daylight bulb. Also I hear the under the tank heat mats are good for him but then I hear they can catch on fire if left on all the time. What on earth am I supposed to do for heating his tank? Now it is not a big deal as it is about 70's to 80 but what about winter? His current heater is 40 watt Daylight blue reptile bulb. I just want to know what should I do for heat? I was thinking of buying an under the tank heater to use at night and during the day I would just turn off the mat and use the heat lamp. Does that sound like a good idea? During winter I mean. He will be fine without heat at night for now as it is almost summer but we are getting summer weather. I named him Pacman. Not original but oh well. He ate alot of crickets about 6 in the past 2 days. He is still small about an inch to 2 inches. I read the younger frogs should be fed crickets dusted in calcium dust every 2-3 days. Is that ok?
