The issues would be the distance that the uv is from the animal (generally). Meaning that some companies have distances that the uv is actually effective. Most likely its fine. but I would buy the best UV tubes you can. In some cages I do this; I use a 100 watt halogen and put it on a dimmer to control the amount of heat coming off it. This allows me to have full control over the ambient temp in the cage. i have also used Helix controls to make sure things are good when I am not there; especially during season changes.
