Lol, I have heard of that! I don't know what you can do about the waterfall without seeing it - your pic didn't show up for me. Many of us use ultrasonic humidifiers (Walgreens makes a good one) that have a removable port so that you can run tubbing up to the viv and pipe in the humidity.

You will find that if you leave it on all the time, you will be forever refilling it and it will soak your viv. I have mine set up to run for an hour in the morning and an hour at night. I still put extra water in the viv itself about once a week to keep the substrate moist. I do like to let it dry out a bit so I won't get any mold or mildew.

Also, you need to clean out the humidifier at least every six months. I find mine gets this slimy stuff growing in it - ewwww.
