As RES get older, they should eat more vegetable matter than protein. In my opinion, it would be better to give your turtles some water plants like Anacharis, water lettuce, or Duckweed. The might also enjoy carrots, sweet potatoes, mango, or berries. Giving them snails or crickets a couple times a month is probably good for them, but live food isn't nessesary on a daily basis. mine enjoy Rosie red minnows, but have more trouble catching them than guppies. If you can find feeder guppies, they seem to be easier to catch.
