Hello!

I just had a tree frog dropped off to me. It was given to me by a gentleman who works at our local A&P Grocery Store here in Simcoe, Ontario. Apparently he was unwrapping their new shippment of tropical palm trees for their garden centre when this little treefrog jumped out at him.

The frog is a greyish colour with orangish hues, almost shimmers gold in the right light, slightly darker banding on the legs and a pattern on his back. Horizontal eye slits with a clear eyelid, with a dark horizontal line in the colour of his iris. He's about 2 inches long when crouched.

I don't have any good pictures yet, but the frog looks like it could be a Hispaniolan Laughing Tree Frog (Osteopilus dominicensis). Check out some pics here: http://triffophoto3.tripod.com/tpom/id4.html . Could this be possible?? Or should I be looking more at species from the southern USA to identify him??

I'll have pictures of this frog soon.

Thanks!!
