I had two anoles, I thought both of them to be females. I wanted to ensure mating and purchased a male anole from my local pet store. I placed the new anole in the cage with the others and they immediately started fighting. I apparently had a male already. I separated the males, luckily I had another cage available to place him in. I housed the new anole alone for several months. Recently however, I bought a larger enclosure and thought I could house all three of them together. I gave them plenty of places to hide and climb. So I assumed that the males would steer clear of each other. They showed signs of aggression towards each other while I watched them, but they never fought. Yesterday however, the new, smaller male anole was just laying on the ground. Looks really skinny, bones are visible. I figured he didn't get a cricket when they were feed the day prior, so I separated him and tried to feed him alone. He wont eat any crickets and I don't believe he drinks either. I read that males will fight and the loser will refuse to eat/drink afterwards. Will my anole be okay now that he is alone again? Or is he in trouble? Since yesterday, I have hand fed him some banana. He seems to be more active now that he is alone, but he still doesnt appear to eat or drink, unless forced/hand fed. Any suggestions?
