I highly recommend getting some vermiculite. Orchard Supply and Hardware usually carries it. If there is too much moisture, you'll drown the embryos. I believe FunkyRes successfully incubated his eggs on coconut fiber last year so maybe he can give you some pointers if you want to use this in terms of moisture.
