So, someone had a chinese water dragon and needed to find a home for it fast due to a change in living situation. Being the bleeding heart type, I agreed to take the animal in.

I got a female dragon that seems to be somewhere between 2 and 3 feet long, in a four foot long, 17 inch or so wide net enclosure and a plastic tub that can hold 2 gallons of water. She also has lights, of course, and a fake tree that she can sit on.

I've gotten the impression that the enclosure isn't big enough from what I've read on the care sheets. The lizard also keeps climbing the mesh and then falling, hopefully in the water. I'm concerned she's going to give herself a concussion. The enclosure seems pretty darn big as far as crickets are concerned, so what is the best way to deliver the crickets to her to eat? Any advice anyone can give me on these issues is appreciated. I'm also concerned that the current lights aren't making it warm enough in the enclosure, but they're hanging as close as they can to the top of the enclosure.

I'll admit that I didn't really want this animal. I was happy with my little leopard gecko. However, the only other alternative was for the previous owner to pass her to an animal shelter and I doubt that would have ended well for this dragon. So if anyone lives anywhere near SW Vermont and wants this critter and give it proper care, let me know.
