My absolute favorite for them is Pothos (Devils Ivy). It is the perfect size of leaves for them to sleep on, it is sturdy enough for them to climb on, you really can't kill it as it needs no UV and grows like a weed, plus it's super cheap and available everywhere.

As far as washing it, you will need to remove it from the soil and wash it from tip to roots. Do NOT reuse the soil, it will contain pesticides and fertilizers and those styro balls. Replant into a cocoa bedding like Eco earth (pet stores carry it in bricks, one brick will do an average size tank). On the rest of the tank where the plant isn't use about an inch or so of gravel or stone under the layer of cocoa bedding for drainage and to prevent mold.

Pothos grows fast so don't get a huge one right off. It will also send off shoots/vines which can then be wound around wood pieces.

Here are some other suggestions.
