Hi there! I just got my first herp two days ago! Ive worked with them a little, but never had one of my own. I bought a Japalura Splendida with a 35 gallon octogon tank from craigslist and got it all set up now, but it seems so empty. My japa seems small, is only active in spurts and sticks to the upper level of the cage as much as possible. I was thinking of getting some more tank mates, but Ive notice a lot of people saying not to mix species. The people who sold him to me said he used to be kept with Anoles and Long Tail Grass lizards, but they all passed on or they got rid of them. dunno. What do you all think about tank mates for a japa? My only concern would be the temp. It stays about 70, which is supposed to be ok for them, but maybe not to many others. There is a warm spot on the bottom from a under tank heater covered by fishtank gravel and reptile bark. Ideas?
