My family is scattered all over the place from Africa, New York to California, so I spent it alone except for phone calls from everyone. I missed cooking for a crowd, so made some Tortellini in Parmesan cream sauce, stuffed baked Romano tomatoes and shared some with the dogs. Not good for them, or me either, for that matter, but we enjoyed it anyway.

It was the froggies' fast day, so the galactonotus, which are on a divider where they can see kitchen and dining activities, just had to line up and watch. (They really do this, as they are curious fellows and watch what's going on outside their tank.) It's really hard to be tough about not feeding them all they can devour, but if I don't, they become obese. I am told by many successful keepers that we tend to overfeed our adult frogs. It takes a lot of self-discipline not to--especially those that appear to be begging like starving dogs.
