Irregularis are NOT on the DWA license in the UK and never have been. This misinformation stems from a consultation regarding changes to the DWA which were made in October 2007. There was mention of both B. irregularis and P. olfersii being added, but NEITHER were eventually included in the schedule.

B. dendrophilia are now OFF the list, so you do not need a license to keep ANY Boiga in the UK at the time of posting.

Which species were you most interested in? Bes (B. cyanea are most commonly available CB in the UK, though mangroves (B. dendrophilia) are now increasingly popular and some CB specimens are available.

If you want something less commonly bred (iregularis, nigriceps, drapeizi or cynodon to name some of the typically kept boiga) you would be well advised to go for a long term captive which is feeding reliably on defrost. Fresh WC should be avoided at all costs unless you are very experienced with easily stressed arboreal species.
