Do you have plans for adding or aiding chapters throughout the state?

I believe Bill helped start the Southern Herp Society that meets in Bossier City, but the members that were previously running it have stepped aside and asked if I would take over for awhile. I was just a new member with lots of ideas and insight into helping the SHS grow and gain members, but until just recently had no knowledge of the inner workings. There was a great disconnect and lack of communication between our group and Bill and the rest of the LGCHS, which I am hoping can be ameliorated. I was given the choice of moving forward as a separate entity from the LGCHS or working as a sister society in the northern part of the state. We have trouble getting members to be fully active and participate, but that could change if the LGCHS would consider including our group in future plans for trips, outings, meetings, events and so on. The biggest problem our group is facing is that no one knows we exist and meet in the northwestern part of the state. I'm sure there are more people out there that would enjoy attending meetings, but are unwilling or unable to make the drive for the LGCHS meetings. If you could put word on your website that a sister society also exists in the northern part of the state, we might be able to gain more members as a whole to benefit all existing members and the two groups collectively.

Although I am a new member, I have great ideas and motivation, but we could use a little more help from the established LGCHS. I hope to get things back on track for our small group, but I also look forward to bringing the two societies closer to better serve the members of the state.
