Well, I don't know about other people's geckos, but it is very easy to tell if my girl has eggs, that or she's gotten into the jelly beans.

Seriously, my girl shows really obvious signs of virgin eggs, so I would suspect looking at her stomach you should see something. Now, the questions are, did the seller mean she had been with a male (no guarantees there, even if 99% of the time that ends in eggs)? Was s/he just trying to make a sale? Or, a possibility, the stress of the selling and moving the gecko could have reabsorbed the eggs depending on what stage they were at.

Try to get a good look at her underbelly, especially stretched out. If she's a lighter color, a backlight may help. Look for large jelly beans where you'd think her kidneys should be. Obviously, a vet is also an option, they can take an xray to ensure that their are no eggs or that there are no underdeveloped eggs (lacking calcium or such) that could cause binding problems that you can't see.

Good luck!
