I brought my baby mountain kings out of hibernation a few days ago on 2/18. They all fed ravenously on unscented pinks, even the ones who went into hibernation as stubborn feeders. I'm bringing the adult males out of hibernation on 3/1 and I will warm the females up two weeks after that. The reason for bringing the males out a few weeks before the girls are twofold:

1. I want to get the males a few extra meals in them since most of them go off feed for about a month and half when they're breeding the females.

2. This gives their body a chance to make more sperm before copulations start....ergo, hopefully I will have an even better fertility rate than last years 80% fertility.

As always, I'll keep people posted on my progress this year with the agalma colony.
