The are right. You really really should not mix species. No matter what your friend told you. Different frogs skin can produce different chemicals which might not be poisonous but could be harmful to your other frogs of a different species. Number two, the other frogs could be stressing out the one that is not eating, Number three, someone could get eaten. I have 4 White's tree frogs and I've watched them grab at each other if they move.
I'm not saying that you aren't smart but it's not a smart idea to house those three frogs in the same tank. I'd never risk it.
