You might look at the Sigma 17-70 DG macro lens. It comes in Nikon mount and is a great starter lens. It is highly rated in comparative reviews and will produce a pretty good macro image. You can fill the frame with something about one inch long. I would get the camera body without a lens and just get the Sigma if I was going with a one lens package.

There may be other cheaper options, but frankly you get what you pay for with lenses. If you buy a cheap lens, you will later have to spend more money to replace it.

A true fixed length macro lens in the appropriate range (90mm to 105mm) will cost you more money than the zoom, will produce sharper results, but will limit your photo choices more than a 17-70 zoom.
