I have 2 fairly new African Clawed frogs - still young and small, about the size of a quarter. We got them about - hm, 7 weeks ago? We had not done a good cleaning of the tank - just this past week finally bought something to "vacuum" out the tank, though we did change 1/4 of the water after about a month.
Well, last night i noticed that they both have swollen bellies! Not huge yet, but it definitely looks abnormal to my untrained eyes. The one has even a sharp looking part to the swelling (although we don't have gravel, just huge rocks, so I know it is not a rock in there!)
They are still swimming and eating fine. We mostly feed them food from Xenopus, though have sometimes given some bloodworms & fish food (though not recently).
Today we emptied out the water and rinsed off all of the gravel and stuff in there. Unfortunately, we are in Ohio, and there was a blizzard here yesterday and today! The city is under a blizzard warning, and folks are being told if they go out on the streets they could get ticketed - and I would not feel safe driving anyway. So I cannot go out and buy any meds, and may not get to until tomorrow or Monday. (today is Saturday).
Is there anything else I should do now? Any recommendations for what I should do when I can get out of the house?
Any help is MUCH appreciated!!!!
