Can an enclosure be too big?

Hi,

I have some 4 foot high by 2 foot wide/deep enclosures...would they be too big for a small day gecko like a gold dust day? I was wondering if I could keep a pair in there. Can you keep groups of day geckos if you have a large tank, or should you just stick to pairs?
