I'm very interested in breeding cresteds. In fact i have breed a male and female and currently have 3 healthy babies.....looking into getting a digital camera too, so i can let y'all see them. My questions concerns genetics. Are there any good genetic books out there? or ppl who know genetics?

I've breed a red solid female to a brown dalmation with a white back stripe. So far all the babies are showing a phenotype of brown solid. Is red a recessive colour? are they co-dominant? If i want dalmation babies do i need 2 dalmation parents? I know this question is complex but i'm hoping someone can help me out. Or even if u can't help me out maybe you can lead me in the right direction. Thank you.
