Hi...

I dont think that I am an "expert" on breeding aussie frills. I have done it, but not consistently over a number of years. I have bred indo/NG frills better; but those arent the same. I wouldnt feel comfortable having a publication on my site stating the "way to breed frills".

BUt I can tell you some general rules... a good friend of mine who know Australia well once tols me that 15 degrees is he magic number. In otherwords 15 degrees drop should be enough to get the females to cycles, and the males interested. Add a bunch of rain and a lot of food; and you should be good togo. Of course where you live in the US is important for barometric pressure, and humidity, so look into that. I am in southern Cal, so Spring is nice. I do not brumate my frills, and whenever I did produce aussies I didnt brumae. I personally think that weight is a huge factr, and thus yo need to have really healthy animals; realy healthy stress free animals. Be patient, and pay attention to how they are acting. This right now is the time they would be breeding; so if you havent turned on the water then do so; hopefully it isnt too late.

hope this helps..

miz
