My location is central Oklahoma. At a local pond there is a healthy population of water snakes. There is one huge diamond back I've seen a few times. She is by far the biggest water snake I've ever seen. I have bullsnakes and she was much bigger than my 5' female, as far as girth and headsize. As far as length goes I would say 4' or maybe more.

If there's a chance she's a record I'll try and snatch her up for pics. She needs to learn to be more wary of people anyway! I can't believe none of the white trash that visits the pond have killed her yet.

Also, I was fishing with a plastic frog and a nerodia clamped down on it. I thought it was hooked because I reeled it in all the way to the shore and it didn't take off. But then after a few more jerks the frog ripped off the hook and the snake swam off with its trophy. I hope it didn't actually eat it!
