Prior to going digital, I shot Minolta stuff because of their superior flash capabilities.
When I went digital, I seriously considered jumping ship from Minolta to Nikon/Canon, but frankly the new Minolta DSLR (7D) offered more for the money. So I stayed Minolta.
Then Sony bought Minolta's camera system and I once again considered jumping ship. I looked carefully at the offerings from Canon/Nikon/Olympus and decided that Sony's new Alpha 700 body was better than any of their offerings (although the D300 is close). So now I'm a Sony guy and I wouldn't trade my Alpha 700 for anything else on the market.
So I currently own (and need to thin down)
Minolta 600si (film) Konica-Minolta 7D (DSLR) Konica-Minolta 5D (DSLR) Sony Alpha 100 (DSLR) Sony Alpha 700 (DSLR) a dozen or so lenses and a couple of flash units. ----- Chris Harrison San Antonio, Texas
