This dorsal pattern is indicative of examples from far west Texas. I'm in Wichita Falls and they can still be found west of a line from here, down south toward San Antonio and the valley. The farther west, the more there are. Lubbock, Abilene, Odessa, El Paso, Del Rio...these areas still have a lot of cornutum. It used to be this way east of IH35...but not anymore.
