I don't know why she would have you hand feed them. How long have you been doing this? How old are they? Too much hand/force feeding can lead to VERY picky eaters, and then you have to do it the rest of their life. Generally geckos won't let themselves starve and will eat food when they need, except maybe not now. You also don't know how much you might be over-feeding them. I would stop hand feeding them and see how they do when you just set food out. If you have them on paper towels (which you should for juvies) then you can just set food out and monitor pooping, if somethings coming out it means somethings going in, even if you don't see any visible food missing from the bowl.
