Hi -

You may want to try potted plants like pothos. Hardy, plenty of places to hide and they can be cleaned/repotted plenty of times.

If you keep the three together, I wouldn't be surprised if one winds up dead. Many species of day geckos are agressive to the same sex. Look for bite marks or missing skin.

If you want plants to survive, you've got to have some kind of substrate - either in a pot or the bottom of the tank. It's really your choice on how you want to do it. I always used mulch and put potted plants on top. Easier to clean and less constant disruption.
