According to Conant (granted I have an older copy from 1975) the Florida Green water snake is the largest species of Nerodia. The record is 74", and the average adult size between 30 and 55". Taxispilota comes in second with a record length of 69", and a slightly larger average of 30 - 60". Someone who has a more recent copy of the Eastern US Peterson Field Guide may have a larger and more updated record for these animals. The next two largest Nerodia are the Diamondback (63 inches) and the Red-Bellied water snake (62 inches). The remainder top out at about 50-55" as far as the records go, as of 1975 anyhow .

Hope this helps!

-Chris
