So, my Reptar's first birthday is only a few months away, and I've concluded that (in addition to the birthday party I will force people to attend), Reptar will be getting a large display cage. The 55g tank he's been in has served him well for his first year of life (he started out at just over 6", now it's looking like he'll hit 2' by his birthday), but it's seriously getting cramped. It's going to be almost completely mesh with wood framing (I live in Houston, insane heat and humidity have to be good for something, right?), but I'm wondering what to do with the bottom. Of course I could go with something really simple, but I'm pondering putting a small pond covering at least half the bottom of his tank. I'd love the sound of running water, and I'm sure Reptar would love the increased soaking capacity and increased humidity. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this?
