I am setting up a 55gallon tank for you slider, but I only plan to fill the tank up with about 25-30gallons of water. I was lookin' at the ZooMed 501 filters but I am worried if the intake hose will reach the water level. the water is about 10 inches from the top. If anyone knows of an alternative I would appreciate it, though i must mention that I'm in college and broke so I'm workin' with a limited budget (sad to say, but my reptiles come first)
