Hi, I have two 15 week old DBT's (1.5-2in) in a 55 gallon aquarium with two ceverum cichlids and I was just wondering what the effects of fish food on a turtle are. Is it ok if my turtles occasionallly eat a fish pellet? I ask because one of the little DBTs seems a little sick today. I did a water change saturday and did too much and messed up the tank cycle a little and now it's going through the high nitrite stage again, but I have lowered the levels with AmQuel to like 1ppm or .5ppm so I wouldn't think that is it. Another thing I started doing is adding aquarium salt to the tank, just half the recomended conditionar dosage (2 teaspoons in 40 gallons), but again, super low dosage so I wouldn't think it is affecting anything. He ate yesterday and ate fine saturday before and after the change, and has been eating fine, but then today I woke up, and it didn't want to eat this morning and it seemed to be trying to pass a stool. Maybe overfeeding? how much is too much? Maybe fish food? I have been feeding them two or three times a day, putting them in a seperate bowl and putting about 5 baby reptomin sticks apiece in there along with a pinch of freeze dried reptomin shrimp and they eat it all usually, and I give them snacks occasionally of the shrimp. Any ideas, suggestions, or concerns would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
