I have a baby sulcata that has been sickly pretty much since I got him, and has gotten drastically worse in the past month and a half. He hasn't eaten in weeks, never moves, and his shell is becoming extremely soft. I went to a foolish vet (they said he was healthy, and they were reading off a care sheet the entire time). I've tried upping the heat (he now never gets below 85 or so). Nothing is working, and he keeps getting worse. I'm thinking the humane thing to do at this point would be to put him out of his misery. I'm fairly certain he's sick to the point of dying, but being a tortoise, he can probably hold on for a while. Is this the best option to choose? And if so, what is the most painless way to do it?
