Very few frogs require UVB to survive (the exception is some from the genus Rana), and I cannot think of any Hylid that needs it.

that being said, it has been proven (at least in some dendrobatids) to help in preventing incidences of sls and other birth defects. It also will improve color.

If you are going to go the uvb route with your red-eyeds I would suggest getting the 5.0 or the 10.0, the 2.0 is really not going to give your frogs a whole lot. the main difference between the 5.0 and the 10.0 is the distance required for absorbtion, i believe the 10.0 goes up to 12 inches and the 5.0 only reaches the animal from 6 inches. You might have to check on that one though.

If you have live plants in your viv the "full spectrum" will help them, but most plants to absolutly fine with a standard 2$ GE bulb.
