Hello everyone,
I have an African Fat Tailed Gecko who just finished laying her last clutch of eggs, she is a first time breeder. This was her third clutch and she only laid one egg. The previous two clutches were infertile. My problem is that she is extremely bloated and she has lost all the fat on her tail. She was still eating at least 3-4 crickets almost every feeding. Right now she has refused her food I think because of the stress of going to the vet and having meds shoved in her mouth. Her stools all looked normal also. I took her to my vet, but she couldn't figure out what was wrong with her, so she called a herp vet in the state to see if she could find out what could possibly be going on. From the descriptions she gave the herp vet he thinks it some type of eggcilitous (I can't remember exactly what it was, but he said something like retaining the yolk of the egg and not forming a shell), so he recommended starting her on baytril combined with lasix. Has anyone ever had this problem and what do you guys think? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
