What is your humidity?

To OP:

They don't require a cagemate and rarely call unless they have been cycled for breeding. During wet season, I have to play a looped recording of them calling in the wild in order to stimulate consistent calling which is intricit to the breeding process.

None of my males (only males have the ability to call) will call otherwise, and I've never had a group that contained a male that would.

The call is fairly loud, lasts between 10 and 45 seconds then immediatly stops usually. They are fairly unmotivated animals. It sounds sort of like ( bit.... bit... bit..bit..bit,bit,bitbitbit - end)
