Thanks for the quick response and the excellent advice, Eve. It is good to share, and I will put that in my "bank of good advice" file. Bailey was beyond needing just prolapse care with those hind legs just dangling. I don't think he suffered too much since he couldn't feel anything down there. I have a good vet and I hope he can shed more light after the necropsy, but trying to keep him alive would have been gruesome for him and for me too. Sigh. Thanks for being there. Maureen
